Moberly Woman Uncovers $10,000 Prize

Story Photo audio icon Angelica Patrick, Moberly, stopped for milk and soda on April 21 and brought home a big surprise.
Patrick, 32, bought two "Black Jack" Scratchers tickets. She scratched the tickets at home, and the first ticket was a $2 winner. She first thought she had won $1,000 on the second ticket, but soon realized it was worth $10,000. Patrick said she started shaking and her husband, Jerome, had to calm her down.
"I just never thought it would happen to me," Patrick said.
With three kids, Patrick’s winnings will be put to good use. She plans to pay some bills and purchase a van. The family had been planning a trip to St. Louis, and Patrick says the van will make it much easier.
"Black Jack" is a $2 Scratchers game that officially began Dec. 7, 2005.
