Columbia Student Finds $5,000 on April Fool's Day

Story Photo audio icon A Columbia College student had trouble convincing her friends that she really won $5,000 on a Missouri Lottery "Money Money Money" Scratchers ticket on April 1. Kionna Eston, 23, said even the clerk thought she was kidding when she told her the $1 ticket was worth $5,000.
Eston purchased her winning ticket at MPC 93, 1412 Rangeline in Columbia, when she stopped for gas. She bought $5 worth of the tickets, and her friend bought $2 worth. Eston won $2, so she bought two more tickets; one of those tickets was worth $5,000.
"She (friend) would have got it, if she would have bought $5 worth like I told her," Eston said. "I’m going to give her something."
Eston, who is a business major, said she plans to use her prize money to buy a car, a television and some new furniture.
"Money Money Money" is a $1 Scratchers game that began on March 25.
