Sikeston Woman Uncovers $75,000 Tax Paid On Lottery Ticket

A 58-year-old Sikeston woman soon will be cruising in a new PT Cruiser she plans to buy after she won $75,000 tax paid playing a Missouri Lottery "$75,000 Tax-Paid" Scratchers ticket. Mary Jones purchased her winning ticket on March 25 at Food Giant, 700 N. Main, in Sikeston.
"I scratched it off in the store, but I didn’t believe that I won that much," Jones said.
Jones said she called everyone she could think of when she returned home with her big winner. Jones, who is a caregiver for a family member, said in addition to a blue PT Cruiser, she plans to share some of her prize money with her three children.
"$75,000 Tax-Paid" is a $5 Scratchers game that began on Dec. 24, 2005.
