Neosho Woman Finds $50,000 Crossword Prize

Story Photo audio icon A Neosho woman can start fixing her house up this spring after she uncovered a $50,000 top prize on a Missouri Lottery "Crossword" Scratchers ticket. Paula Sprenger, 39, said she plans to make some repairs with the prize money, along with paying some bills. "My youngest brother lives in Washington, and we haven’t been up there to visit them since they got married," she said. "That’s been about six years now. I have a new nephew on the way, so that would be kind of nice to go up there." Sprenger purchased her winning ticket on March 21 at Fastrip, 301 W. Coler in Neosho, when she stopped to buy some Powerball tickets. She only bought one of the $3 "Crossword" tickets, and she scratched it off at home. "Crossword" officially started on Jan. 28.
