St. Louis Woman Wins $100,000 Using Power Play During Promotion

Instead of winning the usual $10,000 third-level Powerball prize, a St. Louis (63128*) woman won 10 times that amount - $100,000 - by using Power Play on March 11 during the game’s "10X" promotion. Bonita Meyer, 80, said she always uses Power Play when she makes her Powerball purchases.
Meyer bought her winning ticket at Dierbergs - Southroads, 12420 Tesson Ferry Road in St. Louis. She let the computer select the winning combination.
Meyer said she may build a new house with her prize money.
The "Power Play 10X" promotion started March 4 and runs through March 29. For an extra $1 per play during the promotion, Powerball?s Power Play feature offers the chance to multiply prizes 2, 3, 4, 5 or 10 times. To date, the "10" has been selected once on March 11.
Normally, using Power Play allows all Powerball prizes except the jackpot to be multiplied up to five times. During the promotion, prizes could be multiplied by as much as 10 times.
