Co-Workers Sharing $100,000 Stack of Cash

audio icon Two single moms in St. Louis now have an extra $100,000 to make life a little easier after uncovering a top prize on a Missouri Lottery Scratchers ticket named "$100,000 Stacks of Cash." Peggy LaRue, 42, of St. Louis (63109*) and Alisa Caurevic, 35, of St. Louis (63111*) are good friends, who both work together at Nutraceutics Corp. in St. Louis. On Feb. 19, when Caurevic stopped at a grocery store to buy orange juice for LaRue, who had a cold, she also bought $20 worth of Missouri Lottery tickets. One turned out to be a big winner.
"She scratched the first winning number and it was for 25 grand," said LaRue. "Then she freaked out and handed the ticket to me."
LaRue said she plans to use her prize money to buy a new truck and pay off her bills. She said Caurevic plans to use most of her winnings for a down payment on a house.
Caurevic purchased the winning ticket at Shop ’N’ Save, 7057 Chippewa in St. Louis.
"$100,000 Stacks of Cash," a $5 game, officially began June 4, 2005.
