JOPLIN HOMEMAKER WINS $25,000

A Joplin woman won $25,000 tax paid* after matching all five numbers in the June 2 SHOW ME 5 drawing. Lisa Phillips, 28, said she and her husband plan to use the money to pay off some bills and take a small vacation with their three children. Phillips purchased her winning ticket Tuesday at 13th Street Express Pit Stop, 1302 Schifferdecker in Joplin. She selected the winning numbers at random. They were: 4, 10, 14, 19 and 21. * Twenty-eight percent federal and 4 percent state taxes are withheld from the total prize amount of $36,764.70 to provide $25,000 cash at the time of redemption. Depending on personal income, winners may owe additional taxes for the prize, or they may receive a refund.
