St. Peters Nurse Wins Trip To Vegas

Story Photo audio icon A nurse from St. Peters recently claimed her trip for two to Las Vegas after she uncovered the trip prize last fall. Suzanne Johnson, 56, said she took so long to claim her prize because she "didn’t realize it was real." "Well, I don’t win things, so I guess I didn’t really realize it was real," explained Johnson, who is a registered nurse for St. Anthony’s Medical Center in St. Louis. "We called last week and talked to somebody here (lottery office) and read her the numbers, and she said, ’Oh, that’s a winner.’" Johnson said she and her husband, Gary, will probably take the trip at the end of March. She said it has been about six years since they have been to Las Vegas. Johnson purchased her winning ticket at 7-Eleven, 703 Union in St. Louis. "$100,000 Ticket to Vegas," a $5 Scratchers game, officially began on July 30, 2005. Las Vegas travel packages include a four-day, three-night trip for two to Las Vegas, round-trip airfare, a choice of deluxe hotel accommodations, hotel ground transfers to and from the airport and $500 spending money. The Missouri Lottery will pay standard federal and state withholding taxes based on the total trip prize value.
