Wentzville Woman Win $75,000 Tax-Paid

Story Photo A 56-year-old Wentzville woman says she is "on a cloud" after winning $75,000 tax-paid.* Glenda Hall said winning the top prize in the Missouri Lottery Scratchers game "$75,000 Tax-Paid" is a blessing. "I can’t even tell you how happy I am," Hall told Lottery officials. "I’m on such a high. It was just about perfect timing." Hall was late getting a break at work on Feb. 8 when she bought her lucky ticket at Schnucks, 577 Mid Rivers Mall Drive in St. Peters. She said she had been buying "$75,000 Tax-Paid" tickets for a week and winning small prizes, so she chose that ticket again. Hall said her head started going "in a million directions" when she discovered her win. She immediately called her husband, James, to tell him her news. He said he nearly dropped the phone when she told him. Paying off some bills and helping her mother are the first plans Hall has for her winnings. She said her two granddaughters will also enjoy some of the prize. However, her top priority is to simply enjoy life and have a little peace of mind. "$75,000 Tax-Paid" is a $5 Scratchers game that began on Dec. 24, 2005. * The Missouri Lottery will pay standard withholding taxes for the prize based on its value. Depending on personal income, winners may owe additional taxes for the prize, or they may be entitled to a refund. Total value of the top prize is $105,633.80. After withholding, the winner will receive $75,000.
