Mexico Man Wins Second Major Powerball Prize
A Mexico man is feeling lucky after he won $10,000 playing Powerball. It’s the second time Don Feger Jr. has won a major Powerball prize in nearly six years. Feger’s ticket matched four of the white-ball numbers and the Powerball number drawn Nov. 30 to win the third-level prize. On Feb. 9, 2000, Feger won the game’s second-level prize of $100,000.
Feger, who owns Apollo Portable Toilets & Pumping Service in Mexico, said he stopped by to check his tickets during lunch and couldn’t believe his luck.
Feger purchased his winning ticket at Hickman’s Food Store, 500 W. Jackson, in Mexico. He let the computer select his winning numbers. He plans to use his winnings to help his two sons have a great Christmas. He also plans to invest some of it.
The second-level prize recently increased from $100,000 to $200,000 when Powerball underwent a new game design that took effect on Aug. 28. The game changes were made to create larger- and faster-growing jackpots. Since the game’s redesign, 12 winning $200,000 Powerball tickets have been sold in Missouri.
