St. Peters Man To Pay Off House After Winning $100,000

A St. Peter’s man plans to pay the mortgage on his house off after he uncovered a $100,000 top prize on a Missouri Lottery "Merry Money" Scratchers ticket. Donald "Don" Eggert Jr., 42, said he might use some of his prize money on Christmas presents, too.
"The kids might get more of what they want," said Eggert, who is the father of two children.
Eggert, a truck driver, purchased his winning ticket approximately three weeks ago, when he stopped at Wright Stop, 100 N. Elm St. in Wright City, to get a sandwich. While there, he bought a couple Scratchers tickets to play while he ate.
"I almost fell over," he said when he saw his ticket was worth $100,000.
"Merry Money" is a $5 holiday-theme game, offering a top prize of $100,000. The game officially started on Oct. 29.
