SECOND TRUCK UNCOVERED IN JOPLIN

A Carl Junction man became the second person to win a brand new 1999 Ford F-150 pickup truck on a Missouri Lottery Scratchers ticket purchased in Joplin. David Scott Loomis, 34, bought just one "Trucks & Bucks" instant ticket last night when he stopped for gas at Snak Atak, 2307 W. 7th in Joplin. His ticket turned out to be worth a truck package. "It’s the biggest thing I have ever won," Loomis told lottery officials when he claimed his prize today in Springfield. Loomis, a carpenter, said he and his wife currently drive a ’72 pickup and a ’90 van. On April 30, Irine Hight, 44, of Joplin uncovered a truck package on a ticket she purchased at Lacy’s, 901 N. Florida in Joplin. Ten 1999 Ford XLT 4 X 4 Styleside Supercab trucks will be awarded to Missouri Lottery Scratchers players through the "Trucks & Bucks" instant game. In addition to the truck, winners will also receive a check for $500, and the lottery will pay 28 percent federal and 4 percent state withholding taxes on the truck packages.
