Fulton Man Wins $1,000 Prize Playing Scratchers The First Time

Story Photo A Fulton man is $1,000 richer after he uncovered the prize on one of the Missouri Lottery’s Scratchers tickets, "$100 Million Cash Spectacular." Robert Morris, 27, said he has never bought a Missouri Lottery Scratchers ticket, but while at Petro Mart in Kingdom City, he decided to try one of the $10 tickets. Morris, who works at Sunshine Laundry in Kingdom City, said he scratched off the ticket while still at Petro Mart and couldn’t believe it when he saw he won $1,000. "I started shaking," Morris said. "I was in shock." Morris said he never has purchased any Scratchers tickets, but that the "$100 Million Cash Spectacular" ticket "just stuck out to me." Morris said his family’s apartment was destroyed in a fire in August, so he plans to use his winnings to replace a few items he lost in the fire and help his family pay a few bills. "$100 Million Cash Spectacular", which officially started on Sept. 10, has the highest payout in the Lottery’s history and offers more than $102.5 million in cash prizes, including 10 top prizes of $1 million. More than 75.14 percent of the $10 game’s sales will be returned to players as prizes.
