video icon Congratulations to the "Kid Haulers" of Fulton! Their group was recognized as the Lottery Team of the Month for November as part of the Missouri Lottery’s 2005 Lottery Captains’ promotion. The promotion awards a Lottery players’ group with prizes and a feature at Molottery.com each month during the calendar year.
The "Kid Haulers" is a group of 22 co-workers who all work at the Fulton Public School Bus Garage. The members, most of whom are bus drivers, are: Beverly Corbin (team captain), Jim Boone, Susan Garrett, Donny Haight, Richard Hansen, Mark Hoover, Patsy Mackley, Don Martin, Mary Parker, Len Reinkemeyer, Mark Roth, Gale Robinson, Lynn Scoggins, Terry Scoggins, Cindy Serini, Ruth Toosley, Wayne Truman, Troy Winnegart, Nikki Yancey and Dale Yancey, all of Fulton; Alisha Sutton, Mexico; and Dan Perigo, Williamsburg.
Beverly Corbin, the group’s captain, said the group started buying tickets together last February, and they’ve been playing as a group ever since. Corbin said they each contribute $2 a week, and they use that money to buy Powerball tickets for each of the Wednesday and Saturday drawings.
Corbin buys the group’s tickets at Mertens Mini Mart, 6603 State Road NN in Fulton. They let the computer Quick Pick their lucky numbers.
Corbin said if the group wins a large Powerball jackpot, she plans to retire and to travel.
"I have a lot of places I want to go," she said. "We’re also going to Hawaii as a group."
