St. Louis Woman Wins $200,000 Powerball Prize

Story Photo A 28-year-old St. Louis (63119*) woman said she plans to pay off her student loans and invest for the future after a combination on her Powerball ticket matched all the five white-ball numbers drawn on Oct. 5. Aleksandra Suri purchased her winning ticket at Schnuck’s Market, 8650 Big Bend Blvd. in St. Louis. "I never thought we would win," Suri said when she claimed her prize at the Missouri Lottery office. "This was definitely a surprise." Suri said she selected her winning numbers using some birth dates, anniversary dates and random numbers. The winning white-ball numbers were: 2, 15, 25, 30 and 45. The second-level prize recently increased from $100,000 to $200,000 when Powerball underwent a new game design that took effect on Aug. 28. The game changes were made to create larger and faster growing jackpots. Since the game’s redesign, seven winning $200,000 Powerball tickets have been sold in Missouri.
