ST. LOUIS MAN PLANS EUROPEAN VACATION AFTER WINNING POWERBALL
A St. Louis restaurant designer will be getting some European inspiration after winning $100,000 playing Missouri Powerball. Eugene "Gene" Christopher, 58, said he’s been wanting to take a European vacation, and now it will be easy after matching all five white ball numbers in the May 1 Powerball drawing.
Christopher said he also plans to buy a different car, pay bills and dabble in some investments with his windfall.
Christopher purchased his winning ticket at Quick Check Grocery, 7817 Big Bend Blvd. in Webster Groves. He said he picked the winning numbers - 7, 9, 20, 26 and 27 - "out of the sky."
To date, 442 Missouri players have won $100,000 in Powerball since the game began in April 1992.
