Mother, Daughter Claim $200,000 Powerball Prize Sold in Cardwell

Story Photo A mother and daughter are sharing a $200,000 prize they won when their numbers matched the five white-ball numbers in the Powerball drawing on Sept. 24. Oma French, 71, and her daughter Jackie Weeks, 54, both of Jonesboro, Ark., won the prize with a ticket purchased at Mr. T’s Liquor Store, 510 Highway 412, in Cardwell. The women let the computer select their winning numbers, which were: 2, 10, 31, 43 and 55. The second-level prize recently increased from $100,000 to $200,000 when Powerball underwent a new game design that took effect on Aug. 28. The game changes were made to create larger and faster growing jackpots. Since the game’s redesign, four winning $200,000 Powerball tickets have been sold in Missouri.
