Edwards Woman Wins $50,000 Instantly

Story Photo An Edwards woman is $50,000 richer after she won playing the Missouri Lottery’s "Crossword" Scratchers game. Saundra Carson, 58, purchased her winning ticket Oct. 4 at Newman’s Country Mart, Main Street and Gunstock Drive, in Warsaw. Carson said after scratching off the winning ticket that she thought she had won $5,000 and was surprised to find out that she actually won $50,000. Carson, a grandmother, said she and her husband, Nelson, plan to use her winnings to pay bills and play bingo. "Crossword," a $3 game officially started on July 2.
