Kansas City Woman Goes to Store For Bread, Wins $10,000

A Kansas City (64106)* woman went to the store for groceries and came home with a $10,000 prize. Angela Turner, 41, went to Snyder’s Supermarket, 2620 Independence Ave., in Kansas City on Oct. 1 to buy some bread and decided to try her luck with the Lottery’s "$100,000 Ticket to Vegas" Scratchers game.
Turner said she scratched the ticket off in the store and then left without even buying the bread. When she got home with the ticket, her family finished scratching off the ticket together.
Turner said she plans to use the prize money to pay bills.
"$100,000 Ticket to Vegas," a $5 game, officially went on sale July 30.
