DE SOTO MAN WINS $25,000 TAX FREE

A De Soto man is $25,000 richer after matching all five numbers in last night’s SHOW ME 5 drawing. Vaughn Gendron purchased his winning ticket at Haffey’s Westland MFA, 2128 Rock Road in De Soto. He let the computer pick his lucky numbers. They were: 5, 9, 11, 23 and 27. Gendron said he plans to use the windfall to buy a car. To date, 720 SHOW ME 5 tickets each worth $25,000 tax paid* have been sold since the game began in November 1994. * Twenty-eight percent federal and 4 percent state taxes are withheld from the total prize amount of $36,764.70 to provide $25,000 cash at the time of redemption. Depending on personal income, winners may owe additional taxes for the prize, or they may receive a refund.
