Moberly Man Wins $3,125 Playing Pick 4

Story Photo A Moberly man is $3,125 richer after he matched all four numbers drawn in the Missouri Lottery’s Pick 4 game during the Aug. 11 Midday drawing.  Richard Furgason, 54, said he checked his tickets later that evening and found out he was a winner.

"I went home and told my wife that we had a lot to get done because we had to go to Jefferson City in the morning," Furgason said.  "She asked why and I said, ’We need to go and pick up our money.’"

Furgason said he normally buys the Lottery’s Daily Game Sampler, which includes one play from each of the Lottery’s three daily games - Pick 3, Pick 4 and SHOW ME 5 Paydown.  The numbers for each game on Daily Game Sampler tickets are randomly generated by the computer.  Furgason’s lucky numbers were:  6, 8, 1 and 4.

Furgason and his wife, Linda, said they plan to use their winnings to pay the sales tax on a truck they recently bought.  They plan to put the rest of their winnings in the bank.

Pick 4 is a daily Numbers Game that offers players a chance to win up to $6,000 by picking four numbers between 0 and 9.  Players can also allow the computer to generate four numbers randomly for them.
