Columbia Woman Wins $3,250 Playing Pick 4

Story Photo A clerk at Moser’s Price Chopper in Columbia cashed in a $3,250 prize playing the Missouri Lottery’s Pick 4 game. Edie Young of Columbia said she bought her ticket at Moser’s soon after getting to work on Aug. 10, and the numbers drawn later that day during the Lottery’s Midday Pick 4 drawing matched all four of her lucky numbers. "I had to look at the numbers twice to make sure they were right," Young, 54, said. Young said she’s been playing her lucky numbers, which are from her former telephone number, for a long time. The lucky numbers were: 3, 3, 9 and 1. Young said she and her husband, Ralph, plan to use their winnings for an upcoming vacation. Young said she has been lucky with Pick 4 and Pick 3 during the past year. She has won prizes of $3,125, $750 and $350 playing the two daily games. Pick 4 is a daily Numbers Game that offers players a chance to win up to $6,000 by picking four numbers between 0 and 9. Players can also allow the computer to generate four numbers randomly for them.
