Foley Woman Uncovers $30,000 Prize

Story Photo A 20-year-old store clerk from Foley is planning to make a down payment on a house after she uncovered a $30,000 top prize on a Missouri Lottery "Spicy Hot Cash" Scratchers ticket. Rachel Lawson said she bought her winning ticket after getting off work on Aug. 7 at Cooke’s Quick Stop, 330 Main St. in Winfield, where she works as a clerk. "I thought it was a fake ticket at first," Lawson said. "I thought there was no way I won $30,000." Lawson said she plans to put a down payment on a house, buy a new car, put some her winnings in the bank and open a savings account for her daughter. "Spicy Hot Cash," a $2 game, officially went on sale July 30.
