De Soto Plumber Shores Up $100,000 Playing Powerball

Story Photo A 20-year-old De Soto plumber can now buy his own set of pipes after winning $100,000 playing Powerball on July 23. Shawn Warden said he plans to use some of his prize winnings to put a down payment on a house. "I’ll probably get a couple of cars, too," said Warden when he claimed his prize on July 25. "I’ll put the rest in savings." Warden purchased his winning ticket July 22 at Country Corner, 4090 Athena School Road in De Soto. He let the computer generate the numbers on his winning ticket. Those numbers were: 13, 16, 20, 28 and 32. To date, 747 tickets worth $100,000 have been sold in Missouri since the Powerball game started in April 1992.
