Lake Saint Louis Twins Share $50,000 Prize

Two Lake Saint Louis twins are sharing yet another part of their lives after one of them uncovered a $50,000 prize on a Missouri Lottery Scratchers game. Margo Johnson and Maxine West, 53, will each get $25,000 after finding a $50,000 top prize on a "Crossword" Scratchers ticket purchased at Huck’s Food and Fuel, 150 Salt Lick Road in St. Peters. The twins claimed the prize at the Lottery’s St. Louis office on July 18.
According to Maxine, the two have been buying Scratchers tickets with the agreement to share the prize for years. She said "Crossword" is her sister’s favorite game. Margo bought and scratched off the winning ticket.
"I work the night shift, so she called and woke me up," said Maxine. "She said, ’Are you sitting down?’ and she said we won $50,000."
Both of the women work as machine operators in St. Peters, but for different companies.
Maxine said she will probably use some of her prize money for a down payment on a car, and she will put the rest in the bank. She said Margo and her husband, Ron, will probably use their prize money to pay off Margo’s truck.
The Missouri Lottery’s $3 "Crossword" game officially started July 2.
