Springfield Man's 'Good Feeling' Brings $20,000

A "good feeling" helped one Springfield man turn $2 into $20,000 when he made his usual morning stop at Kum & Go, 620 N. National in Springfield. William "Will" Wells Jr. said he buys a newspaper and a $1 Missouri Lottery Scratchers ticket every morning; but the morning of July 5 was different.
"I told the clerk, ’I feel it today,’" said Wells.
Instead of the usual $1 ticket, he opted for a $2 "Lucky Numbers" ticket and won $20,000.
"I think the $2 tickets are key for me right now," Wells said.
Wells recalled being with someone else a few years ago who also uncovered $20,000 on a Scratchers ticket.
"I guess it was my turn," he said.
Wells, 34, said he and his wife, Angela, planned to use the money to build a privacy fence and finish the installing the sod for the new home they recently built.
"Lucky Numbers," a $2 Scratchers game, officially went on sale June 4.
