Van Buren Couple Win Stack of $100,000 Cash

A retired Van Buren couple are making plans after they uncovered a $100,000 top prize on a Missouri Lottery "$100,000 Stacks of Cash" Scratchers ticket. Betty Johnson, 76, said she and her husband, Wayne, 75, purchased two Lottery tickets when they stopped at Smalley’s Liquor and Grocery in Van Buren on June 21. One of the tickets turned out to be worth the game’s top prize of $100,000.
"We’ll put some back and relax," said Johnson, when she claimed her prize on June 22. "I’ll buy my husband a new hearing aid, and we’ll buy a new stove. We’ve never had this much money in all our lives."
Johnson said this isn’t the first time she has won a large Missouri Lottery prize. She also won $25,000 tax-paid playing SHOW ME 5 in January 1996.
"$100,000 Stacks of Cash,"a $5 game, officially went on sale June 4.
