Lincoln University Student Wins $30,000

Story Photo A performing group from Lincoln University will be sporting new uniforms and offering new scholarships after a member of the group, Jerry Morgan, won $30,000 playing the Missouri Lottery?s ?Grand Casino? Scratchers game. Morgan, 26, said he purchased his winning ticket June 25 at Break Time, 627 Clark Ave. in Jefferson City. Morgan, a music education major at Lincoln University, said he wants to make sure the group, Lincoln University Unique Show Stoppers, is well taken care of after he graduates from Lincoln next year. ?Everybody in Jeff. City probably already knows (I won),? Morgan said. ?I still can?t believe it, though!? Morgan, who is originally from St. Louis, said he scratched the play action on the ticket first and saw that he had 10 winning plays. To savor the suspense, he then slowly started scratching off the prize amounts that added up to the prize of $30,000. ?$300,000 Grand Casino,? a $10 game, officially went on sale March 26.
