St. Louis Mom Wins $300,000 Prize

A 31-year-old St. Louis (63143*) mom can be glad she gave in to her daughter’s hankering for chewing gum on June 13. Rebecca Dotson said her seven-year-old daughter wanted some gum, so she stopped at Shell, 2707 McCausland in St. Louis. While there, she noticed there was only one more ticket left in the pack of "$300,000 Big Money" Missouri Lottery Scratchers tickets, so she "had to buy it." That ticket turned out to be worth a $300,000 top prize.
Dotson, a stay-at-home mom, said she plans to use the prize money to pay off her car and home, and send her daughter to a private elementary school.
"I had to sit there a couple of minutes," she said, explaining about when she uncovered the prize at home.
"$300,000 Big Money," a $10 game, officially went on sale May 14.
