Stover Restaurant Owner Wins $3,125 With Sampler

Story Photo Curiosity may have "killed the cat," but it parlayed into a $3,125 Pick 4 prize for a restaurant owner from Stover. Sandy Chaney, 49, owner of Stumpy’s, 33880 Ivy Bend Road in Stover, said she was generating Club Keno plays for a customer on June 2 when she noticed a "Daily Game Sampler" play option on the terminal. "I thought, ’What the heck’s a sampler?’" said Chaney. "So I said, ’I’ll buy one.’" She let the computer pick the numbers on her midday Daily Game Sampler tickets for June 3, which consist of one $1 Pick 3 play, one $1 Pick 4 play and one $1 SHOW ME 5 Paydown ticket. Her Pick 4 play, consisting of the numbers 2, 6, 5 and 4, turned out to be worth $3,125. "We’ve sold quite a few sampler tickets since then (her win)," she said. Chaney said she and her husband, Bob ? whose nickname is Stumpy ? have already purchased a riding lawn mower for the business with the prize money. The Daily Game Sampler play option offers players a simple way to buy one play for the Lottery’s three daily games. With a $3 Daily Game Sampler combination play, players get the chance to win more than $56,000.
