Alexandria Woman Wins $50,000 In Crossword

An Alexandria woman is $50,000 richer after she uncovered the cash prize on a Missouri Lottery "Crossword" ticket. Christine Stark, 41, said she bought four "Crossword" tickets on May 19 at Ayerco in Alexandria, where she works as a clerk. She played those later at home, and none of them were winners. She then went back to the store and bought the last 10 "Crossword" tickets; the very last ticket turned out to be worth $50,000.
"It was hard to believe," she said.
Stark said she plans to use her prize money to pay some bills, including paying the loan on her mobile home and medical bills. She also plans to buy a new washer, dryer and refrigerator with her prize money.
The Missouri Lottery’s $3 "Crossword" game officially started Nov. 20, 2004.
