Missouri Pick 3 Players Win With Triple 7s

Story Photo Just hours before "unlucky" Friday the 13th, Missouri Lottery Pick 3 players got lucky and "broke the lottery bank" when the combination 7-7-7 was drawn in the May 12 evening drawing ? paying out 346 percent in prizes. A total of 1,160 players wagered some combination of 7-7-7 for a total payout of $344,490 in prizes. Sales for the drawing were $99,529.50. "Triple numbers are the most popular combinations with Pick 3 players," said Scott White, on-line product manager for the Missouri Lottery. "After triple numbers, the most popular combinations are 1-2-3 and 3-6-9." White said an average daily payout for Pick 3 is approximately $106,000, and yesterday’s payout was $350,000. Last night is only the second time since the Pick 3 game began in February 1987 that the combination 7-7-7 has been drawn. The last time was Oct. 22, 1991. Pick 3 drawings are held each day at 12:57 p.m. and 6:57 p.m. For more information about Pick 3, visit the Lottery’s Web site at molottery.com.
