Jadwin Woman Wins $10,000

Story Photo A Jadwin woman is $10,000 richer after uncovering a cash prize on a Missouri Lottery Scratchers ticket on April 7. Wendy McElfresh, 25, said she plans to pay bills, have some fun with the prize money and put some of the money into the bank. McElfresh purchased her winning "$300,000 Lucky Gold" ticket at Break Time in Salem. She scratched the ticket while sitting in her truck. When she realized she won at least $500, she went back into the store. "I asked the clerk, ’What’s the largest amount you can cash?’" said McElfresh, who works as a resource assistant for the Missouri Department of Conservation. The clerk checked the ticket and found that McElfresh had won $10,000, which meant she would have to take or send the ticket to the Missouri Lottery’s headquarters in Jefferson City. ?$300,000 Lucky Gold,? a $10 game, officially went on sale Dec. 25, 2004.
