Greenwood Student Uncovers $30,000 Prize

A 19-year-old college student from Greenwood can add $30,000 to her education fund after she uncovered the top prize on a Missouri Lottery "Triple Fortune" Scratchers ticket. Brandy Bourey said she stopped at Casey’s in Greenwood to redeem $16 worth of winning Lottery tickets. With her prize money, she bought two more tickets; both tickets were winners. One ticket was worth $2, and the other ticket was worth $30,000.
"I want to buy a big karaoke system, because I like to sing," she said. "I also want to go to Jamaica."
Bourey said she also plans to use the money to help with her college costs. She is majoring in nursing at Longview Community College in Lee’s Summit. She also works caring for a 94-year-old woman 40 to 50 hours a week.
"I love it (caregiving)," she said. "She’s amazing!"
"Triple Fortune," a $2 game, officially went on sale Jan. 29.
