Syracuse Man Uncovers $7,777 Top Prize

Story Photo A retired Syracuse man is $7,777 richer after he uncovered the top prize on a Missouri Lottery "Lucky 7’s" Scratchers game. Tony Gutierrez, 65, said he plans to use the windfall to pay some bills and give some to his three grown kids. "We might take a vacation, too, probably to the Lake (of the Ozarks)," he said. Gutierrez said he bought his winning ticket on March 17, when he stopped at Tipton Better Stop in Tipton to buy cigarettes. He bought three Scratchers tickets, and the last one he played was the winner. ?Lucky 7’s,? a $1 game, officially went on sale March 27, 2004.
