Jefferson City Man Uncovers $10,000

A Jefferson City man is on cloud nine after he uncovered a $10,000 prize on a "Cash Craze" Scratchers ticket on March 13. Jack Riley, 51, said he stopped in Gerbes West in Jefferson City to pick up a prescription when he bought $5 worth of Scratchers tickets.
"I knew one (ticket) was a winner when I scratched off two moneybags, but I was in a hurry and waited to scratch off the rest of the ticket later," said Riley.
Riley said he and his wife, Lorraine, have a routine for winning tickets.
"If I have a big winner, I always leave it on top of the ice box for my wife to see when she comes home. I didn’t say anything. I just waited for her to see it, and then I heard her scream," Riley said with a grin.
Riley, who is a laborer for Jefferson Asphalt, said he and his wife plan to open up accounts for their two grandsons to help them save for college.
"Cash Craze," a $1 game, officially went on sale Feb. 26.
