Chesterfield Man Wins Trip To Vegas

Story Photo A retired Chesterfield man is planning a trip to Las Vegas after uncovering a trip prize in the Missouri Lottery’s "Viva Las Vegas" Scratchers game. Leonard Smith, 79, said he is looking forward to an upcoming trip. "The last time I was in Vegas was in 1946 for seven days after I left the Navy," he said. "I’m sure it has changed a lot." Smith’s travel package includes a four-day, three-night trip for two to Las Vegas, round-trip airfare, a choice of deluxe hotel accommodations, hotel ground transfers to and from the airport and $500 spending money. The Lottery will pay 25 percent of federal and 4 percent of state withholding taxes based on the total trip prize value. Smith said that since his wife has had some illnesses, he will probably take the trip with his daughter. In addition to 60 trip prizes in the $5 "Viva Las Vegas" game, there are also thousands of cash prizes, including $100,000 prizes.
