A 34-year Boeing employee can add $25,000 tax paid* to his retirement fund after matching all five numbers drawn in the Missouri Lottery’s SHOW ME 5 game on Nov. 1. Carl Mincemeyer, 61, of Union said he plans to retire in about one year. In addition to saving for retirement, Mincemeyer and his wife, Norma, plan to use some of the winnings to buy new linoleum for their kitchen. Mincemeyer purchased his winning ticket at Frick’s Market, Jefferson and Locust in Union, when he stopped for groceries. He let the computer select the numbers on his ticket. The winning numbers were: 9, 12, 22, 23 and 28. Since SHOW ME 5 began in 1994, 796 tickets worth $25,000 tax paid have been sold in Missouri. * Twenty-eight percent federal and 4 percent state taxes are withheld from the total prize amount of $36,764.70 to provide $25,000 cash at the time of redemption. Depending on personal income, winners may owe additional taxes for the prize, or they may receive a refund.
