Pacific Man Wins $300,000 Instantly

Story Photo A retired machinist from Pacific is going car shopping after he uncovered a $300,000 top prize on a Missouri Lottery "$300,000 Lucky Gold" Scratchers ticket on Feb. 19. Rolf Walker, 70, said he bought his ticket at Eureka Motomart in Pacific, and he scratched the latex off while there. "I started to shake and cry," he said. "My wife couldn’t believe it either. She thought I was joking." Walker and his wife, Shirley, plan to buy a new car with the windfall, since their 1997 Plymouth has more than 140,000 miles on it. They also plan to make some repairs to their home. ?$300,000 Lucky Gold,? a $10 game, officially went on sale Dec. 25, 2004.
