St. Louis Nurse Wins $50,000 Tax Paid

Story Photo A registered nurse at St. Mary’s Health Center in Clayton won $50,000 tax paid* when she stopped for gas and decided to buy a SHOW ME 5 Paydown ticket for the Feb. 13 evening drawing. Marilynn Robinson, 48, of St. Louis (63138**) said she plans to use the prize money to pay bills and buy a building. "My husband showed me how to play (SHOW ME 5 Paydown)," she said. "I don’t normally buy tickets. Now maybe I will play a little more often." Robinson used some numbers from her two children’s birthdays and their ages. The winning numbers were: 5, 11, 30, 37 and 42. Robinson purchased her winning ticket at Hucks Food Store, 10620 New Halls Ferry in Ferguson. To date, 87 players have matched all five numbers drawn to win $50,000 tax paid in SHOW ME 5 Paydown since the game began Nov. 6, 2000. * The Missouri Lottery will pay 25 percent federal and 4 percent state withholding taxes for the top prize based on its value. Depending on personal income, winners may owe additional taxes for the prize, or they may be entitled to a refund. Total value of the top prize is $70,422.55. After withholding, winners will receive $50,000. If more than 14 players match the five winning numbers in a single drawing, $1 million will be divided equally among the number of winning tickets. ** winner’s zip code to help media determine coverage area
