Rushville Retiree Wins $50,000 Tax Paid
A retired Rushville man may be taking another vacation after finding out he won $50,000 tax paid* in the Feb. 7 SHOW ME 5 Paydown evening drawing. Marvin Crockett, 64, said he just got back from a vacation in New Mexico, and now he might have to take another vacation.
"I might trade in my car, because it has a lot of miles on it," he said. "I may do more traveling."
Crockett, who is retired from American Airlines, purchased his winning ticket at Kovac’s Drive In, 7014 King Hill Ave. in St. Joseph. He let the computer select his five winning numbers. They were: 7, 14, 15, 16 and 20.
To date, 87 players have matched all five numbers drawn to win $50,000 tax paid in SHOW ME 5 Paydown since the game began Nov. 6, 2000.
* The Missouri Lottery will pay 25 percent federal and 4 percent state withholding taxes for the top prize based on its value. Depending on personal income, winners may owe additional taxes for the prize, or they may be entitled to a refund. Total value of the top prize is $70,422.55. After withholding, winners will receive $50,000. If more than 14 players match the five winning numbers in a single drawing, $1 million will be divided equally among the number of winning tickets.
