Harrisonville Man Wins $50,000 Playing Crossword

A Harrisonville man is $50,000 richer after he uncovered the cash prize on a Missouri Lottery "Crossword" Scratchers ticket. Roy Rogers, 44, said he plans to use his prize money to help pay some medical bills. Rogers, who is a driver for G.R. Milner in Harrisonville, purchased his winning ticket on Jan. 12 at Wood Oil, 150 Commercial in Harrisonville, where he said he "hangs out." He bought five of the "Crossword" tickets and the fifth one turned out to be the big winner. The Missouri Lottery’s $3 "Crossword" game officially started Nov. 20, 2004.
