Student Wins $27,777 Before Going Home For Christmas

Story Photo A music major at Truman State University was humming after he uncovered a $27,777 prize on a Missouri Lottery ticket on Christmas Eve. Joshua "Josh" Webster, 21, said he had to stay in Kirksville and work that night at Taco Bell. When he got off work, he stopped at the Ice House, 202 E. Illinois in Kirksville, before going to his apartment to pack for his trip home to Kansas City. While there, he bought one Lottery ticket from the "Emerald Green 7’s" game and he scratched it off at his apartment. To his surprise, it was worth $27,777. "I’ll use some of it (prize money) to start working on a (music) CD," he said. Webster also plans to use some of his winnings to pay bills and make a donation to his church. ?Emerald Green 7’s,? a $2 game, officially went on sale Dec. 25, 2004.
