Lake St. Louis Couple Wins $100,000 In Powerball

Story Photo A Lake St. Louis couple got a jump start on saving for their young son?s college education after they won $100,000 playing Missouri?s Powerball game. Edward and Kelley Davis purchased their winning ticket for the Nov. 3 Powerball drawing at Phillips MPC, 2500 Highways 40 and N in O?Fallon, when Edward stopped on the way home from work to buy gas. Edward Davis, who claimed the couple?s prize on Jan. 3, said he found out that his ticket matched the five white-ball numbers drawn by visiting the Lottery?s Web site at Molottery.com. ?I just kind of sat there and said, ?Wow,?? Davis, 41, said. ?It was my day off, so I called Kelley at work to tell her, but she didn?t believe me.? In addition to saving for their son?s college education, the couple also plans to pay off a few bills. To date, 719 tickets worth $100,000 have been sold in Missouri since the Powerball game started in April 1992.
