Moberly Man Wins $50,000 Top Prize Playing Crossword

A Moberly man rang in the New Year with an additional $50,000, after he uncovered it on a Missouri Lottery "Crossword" Scratchers ticket. Ronald "Ron" Brockman, 62, said he bought his winning ticket on Dec. 31 at Break Time Convenience Store, 221 S. Morley in Moberly.
"I played it late that morning," said Brockman, who retired from an insurance company in Columbia a year ago. "I plan to pay some bills and put some (money) back."
The Missouri Lottery’s $3 "Crossword" game officially started Nov. 20, 2004.
