Columbia Man Wins $5,000 In Powerball

Story Photo A Columbia couple is planning a trip to Jamaica after they won $5,000 on Dec. 16 playing the Missouri Lottery’s Powerball game. David Chatterton, 30, said he and his wife, Sarah, are already making plans for the trip. Chatterton bought his winning ticket at Fastlane, 220 N. 10th St. in Columbia, on Dec. 15 when he stopped by the business to buy gas. A few days later he decided to check the winning numbers from Dec. 16 drawing on Molottery.com. ?I couldn?t believe it,? Chatterton said. ?I called the Lottery to make sure I had the right numbers.? Chatterton, who works in retail management at Circuit City, said he usually buys two tickets ? one with the numbers he had selected and the other using Quick Pick. The Quick Pick ticket proved to be the lucky one.
