St. Louis Writer, Radio Announcer Wins Trip To Vegas

Story Photo A 51-year-old St. Louis (63108*) man will get to see Vegas a second time after uncovering a trip prize in the Missouri Lottery’s "Viva Las Vegas" Scratchers game. Mark Manelli said he has been to Las Vegas once, and he and his wife, Suzanne, are looking forward to going again. "We may go as soon as April," said Manelli, who is a free-lance writer and radio announcer. Manelli said he purchased his winning ticket on Dec. 8, when he took his elderly aunt grocery shopping at Shop N Save, 49 N. Florissant Road in Ferguson. Manelli’s travel package includes a four-day, three-night trip for two to Las Vegas, round-trip airfare, a choice of deluxe hotel accommodations, hotel ground transfers to and from the airport and $500 spending money. The Lottery will pay 25 percent of federal and 4 percent of state withholding taxes based on the total trip prize value. In addition to 60 trip prizes in the $5 "Viva Las Vegas" game, there are also thousands of cash prizes, including $100,000 prizes. * winner’s zip code to help media determine coverage area
