West Plains Store Owner Named Unofficial Top Prize Winner In Second Holiday Drawing
The owner of Hammond Station in West Plains will be celebrating the season with a brand new 2005 Ford F150® truck or the cash equivalent in the Missouri Lottery’s second "Yule Tide Thrill Ride" holiday promotion drawing, held Dec. 22 in Jefferson City. Alan Heselton, 51, was named the unofficial top prize winner in the second drawing. When Heselton provides the Lottery with the actual tickets he used to enter the promotion via the Web site, he will be named the official winner. Heselton has 14 days to submit those tickets.
Heselton said he’s not sure if he will take the truck or the cash. The cash value of the prize is $33,500.
Heselton’s winning entry consisted of two $5 non-winning tickets from the "Season’s Greetings" Scratchers game. He purchased his tickets at his store.
The Lottery received 156,504 entries for the second drawing; 57 percent of the entrants entered through the Lottery’s Web site, and 43 percent of entrants mailed their entries or delivered them to a Missouri Lottery office.
In addition to the grand prize Ford F150 truck or cash equivalent in the second drawing, 55 cash prizes ? five worth $2,500 and 50 worth $500 ? were also awarded. A complete list of unofficial winners can be found at molottery.com.
There is one more drawing left in the promotion. The third and final drawing will take place on Jan. 19, 2005, and will feature a grand-prize 2005 Ford Explorer XLT® and $500 or the cash value of $33,500, and 55 other cash prizes. The entry deadline for the third drawing is Jan. 12, 2005.
Players can enter the drawing on-line, by postal mail or by dropping entries at regional offices. An entry consists of $10 worth of non-winning Scratchers tickets from five current holiday-theme games: "$300,000 Holiday Cash," "Season’s Greetings," "Holiday Bingo," "Ho Ho Holidays" and "Merry Money."
