Iberia Woman Wins $1,000 Scratchers Prize

An Iberia woman said she started crying when she realized she won $1,000 on a Missouri Lottery Scratchers ticket. Sandra Kendall said she bought three ?Season?s Greetings? tickets at Super C Convenience Store, 7 Honey Springs Loop in Brumley, on her way to the Lake of the Ozarks. She scratched off one ticket in the store and won $5. After reaching the Lake area, she stopped in a store parking lot and scratched off the remaining two tickets. ?I thought I won $50 at first, but when I realized I won $1,000, I started crying,? Kendall, 62, said. ?I started calling everyone to tell them; that?s what cell phones are for.? Kendall, a retired waitress, said she is planning a trip to California over the holidays to see her grandchildren, and she is expecting to spend some of her winnings on them. ?Season?s Greetings,? a $5 game, officially went on sale Oct. 30.
