Land Surveyor Finds Winning Ticket In Nick Of Time
A Jefferson City land surveyor recently unearthed a winning Lotto ticket from May in the nick of time. Loran Chick, 38, said he cleaned out his truck, checked several Lottery tickets he found in it, and discovered that one of them was worth $1,033. He claimed his prize on Nov. 12, just 10 days before the ticket would have expired.
Chick, who works at the Missouri Department of Transportation, said the prize money will be "a little extra" for the upcoming holiday season.
Chick purchased his winning Lotto ticket for the May 26 drawing at Break Time, 810 Stadium in Jefferson City. He let the computer Quick Pick his five winning numbers. They were: 4, 8, 22, 32 and 35.
Lotto is an in-state numbers game that offers players a chance to win $1 million or more each Wednesday and Saturday. Lotto players have 180 days from the drawing to claim prizes.
